
This course addresses the issues associated with occupational noise; this is a highly topical issue with the new Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 coming into force in Spring 2006.
Noise induced hearing loss is a prescribed industrial disease with an estimated 170,000 sufferers in the UK alone. This course focuses on the identification of noise hazards through effective risk assessment and goes onto evaluate the range of control methods available to address the risks.
To provide delegates with an understanding of how noise affects human health and where and when it is likely to be a problem. The course will clearly explain the new Control of Noise at Work Regulations, the employers obligations and how these will impact on business. It will then go on to give an insight into noise assessment and control using proven effective strategies.
To give understanding of occupational noise and its relationship with noise induced hearing loss, conducting risk assessments for noise, calculation of exposure and a background of noise assessment and control.
