
A 2-day module following the British Occupational Hygiene Society syllabus, designed to cover the conducting of asbestos air samples and clearance testing.
The syllabus involves a written examination and a practical assessment, testing the ability to conduct pre-start and clearance enclosure inspections along with all other aspects of the 4-stage clearance including decontamination units; use of PPE; set up of sampling equipment; and carrying out relevant calculations. On reaching the required standard, delegates are awarded the BOHS P404 Proficiency Certificate.
This module provides theoretical and practical knowledge in the techniques of air sampling and clearance testing of asbestos.
Delegates will have a detailed knowledge of the approved methods for sampling of airborne asbestos and MMMF and be able to describe the methods used to test and inspect an enclosure.
Anyone undertaking asbestos enclosure clearance or sampling air for asbestos in an IS017025 accredited laboratory.
Successful completion of the course and examinations will provide a recognised qualification in asbestos air sampling and clearance testing.
The course is tutor led using classroom presentation and site-based practical work.
